Mechanical Engineering

NBA Accredited

Mechanical Engineering - is well known as an evergreen branch of Engineering. Mechanical engineers can seek jobs in Government Department, Public Sector Undertakings like Railways, Navy, military engineering services, DRDO, NTPC etc. and also there is huge scope in Private Sector and as well as in research and development departments of automobile sector.

As we see nowadays government policy tending towards make in India, start up India and like many more thus we can expect the growth of manufacturing and production industries in new developing India, thus there will be boost up in job opportunity for Mechanical Engineers; as NO industry can exist without Mechanical Engineering! Recognized as "NBA Accredited", the Mechanical Engineering Department started functioning from the academic year 1995 along with the inception of the institution and is known for its best research ambiance, well complemented with qualified and experienced faculty. Our USP is our experienced and dedicated Faculty, majority of them possessing Doctoral degrees from reputed institutes/ universities and rich experience in industry & academia.

Department offers 4-years UG program (B.Tech) in ME, as well as 2-years PG program (M.Tech) in Machine Design. It has a comprehensive curriculum as per the mandate of the affiliating University on topics pertaining to all aspects of Mechanical Engineering with a focus on most preferred practical learning. The course structure is up-to-date and includes top-most courses on nascent topics to equip the students with the latest developments in Mechanical Engineering.

The Department has got NBA certification which qualifies for the top-most learning experience along with the best curricula being followed in a disciplined manner. This NBA Accreditation also certifies that the department is supervised in the best ways and is ensuring the excellent learning experience for its students.

The Department has state-of-the-art infrastructure, core laboratories and computing facilities supported by high-speed Ethernet. Various active student organizations such SAE collegiate club, Energy Club and Mechanical Igniters club are functioning with active participation of students. These are promoting the zeal of learning in the students and promote the team spirit too.

Our faculty members aim at delivering top class education by blending their rich research experience with classroom teaching. The teaching-learning process comprises classroom teaching, along with tutorials, practical, seminars, viva-voce, minor/major projects, group discussion, expert lectures, industrial visits, industrial training, and workshops. The teaching aids include overhead projector (OHP), LCD, a variety of CAD software and series of audiovisual lectures of various subjects developed by NPTEL.

B.Tech - Mechanical Engineering

Most engineering programs start with general courses in sciences, and then migrate to specialized courses for the disciplines. With this approach, the B.Tech (ME) program can be divided broadly in two halves.

  • The first half focuses on building the core competency and foundation of mechanical engineering.
  • The second part is for developing the skills and application of technologies in different subsidiaries of mechanical engineering, which impact on the day to day life of human beings; which includes automobiles, refrigeration, power plant, alternate energy, industrial engineering etc. Our objective is to produce quality Engineering graduates by imparting top-notch education in the field of Mechanical Engineering and to lead them in a successful career in industries or develop & cultivate entrepreneurial capabilities in them.
